Neyyatinkara is an ancient town situated about 20 km southeast of Trivandrum city. The Sree Krishna Temple, on the banks of Neyyar River, was founded by King Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma and holds great historical significance. There is a jackfruit tree here known as Ammachi Plavu that got its name after an incident. The legend goes such that it was in the hollow of this huge tree that Marthanda Varma is believed to have hidden from the enemy army that chased him. The structure is a fine e
