Sarkaradevi Temple is situated south of the Chirayinkeezhu Taluk, 35km north of Thiruvananthapuram. The temple assumed a significant status with the introduction of the famous Kaliyoot festival by Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma, the Travancore sovereign in 1748. This pilgrim destination has Goddess Bhadrakali as the presiding deity and also has sculptures of Lord Krishna, Lord Rama, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Durga and several other deities adorning the structure of the sanctum sanctorum.
