Poovar
An ancient port and historic trading centre in the colonial days, Poovar is only 29 km from Thiruvananthapuram city. This tourist town is flanked by tourists all over the year and makes for a perfect weekend getaway. It is said that the legendary Jesuit Missionary, St. Francis Xavier visited the place in the 16th century.
