Vizhinjam Port
Vizhinjam Port is situated just 2 km from Kovalam beach and is an International Seaport constructed along the beautiful Arabian seacoast. The ancient Vizhinjam Church here was built by the Portuguese two centuries ago. The port is now being developed into an International Deep Water Container Trans-shipment Terminal because of its location near the international ship route, the proximity to the channels and its natural depth.
